Clark County Arts & Culture Summit

Help shape the future of the arts in Clark County.

Join us for “Creating a Voice,” the inaugural Clark County Arts & Culture Summit!

On March 3, 2012, the Clark County Arts Commission and the Arts of Clark County, a 501c3 non-profit, are hosting this community conversation, and we need you to be a part of it.

Please join us at Fort Vancouver's Artillery Barracks, for a one-day summit designed to bring the Clark County arts community together to begin the work of building our future, together.

Background:

In April 2011, the Washington State Arts Alliance held its annual Cultural Congress at Skamania Lodge. Despite the wealth and diversity of artists and arts organizations here in Clark County, Southwest Washington was not represented at this major event. The four people from our area who attended learned that we are invisible in the statewide arts community. This invisibility stifles our access to Washington State resources and those of our close neighbor, Portland.
We have incredibly talented people here, working in all area of the arts. Working together, we can highlight, support, and grow our arts community, and become recognized for the great work that is done here every day.

Help shape our future. Join us to build a vision for the future of the arts in Clark County.

Event Details:
Saturday, March 3, 2012
8am-5pm, Networking social 5-6:30pm
Fort Vancouver Artillery Barracks
600 E. Hatheway Road
Vancouver, WA 98661

Registration: $25.00 includes lunch & snacks. Click Here to learn more and to Register

We would appreciate representation from all sectors of the arts community, and are limited to 120 total guests. Don’t miss this opportunity to add your voice to the conversation register now.

Plein Air Artist Henk Pander at the Laura Russo February 11, 2012

Artist Talks: Mel Katz and Henk Pander

Saturday, February 11, 2012, 11:00am - 1:00pm

Mel Katz will discuss the work in his newest exhibition of wall sculptures. Created from anodized aluminum and featuring bold shapes and bright colors, Katz's slyly humorous sculptures challenge the view that metal is unyielding and geometry impersonal.

Henk Pander will talk about the work in his latest exhibition, titled "Worlds Apart: Plein Air Watercolors". These paintings reveal seldom-seen lnadscapes from Oregon's forests and deserts, places of harsh terrain and wild beauty.
