Call to Artists: Great Nautical Art Show (Paint out dates, Submission Dates, Reception Dates)

Oregon Marine Museum, OMM, and Oregon Society of Artists, OSA, announce their "Great Nautical Art Show" for the month of May. This is the first of its kind. The TWO locations for this show will be aboard the Portland Steamship (currently docked in the Willamette River near SW Naito and SW Pine St. Portland, Oregon) and at the OSA Gallery at 2185 SW Park Place,  Portland, Oregon.

This will be an open show. Anyone can submit art to this show.  Paintings will be accepted at OSA on the morning of May 5, 10 am to noon. Each artist may submit up to 3 works of art. OMM will select paintings for display aboard the Portland Steamship and OSA will select paintings for display at OSA. There will be two receptions for this joint show. The first reception will be Sunday, May 6 from 1-4pm aboard the Portland Steamship. The second reception will be Sunday, May 13, 1-4pm at OSA, 2185 SW Park Place. The public is invited to both receptions as we celebrate the nautical-themed works of art and honor the artists that created them.

In preparation for this show, OSA and OMM are sponsoring three paintouts at the waterfront and aboard the Portland Steamship. Bring your paints and come to the waterfront to paint Portland's beautiful bridges, the Portland Steamship, or any other waterfront scene. The dates for the paintouts are Thursday, March 29, Wednesday, April 11, and Saturday, April 28. You can paint anytime and the Portland Steamship will be open from 11am to 4pm if you would like to paint from aboard the ship. In case of rain you can paint inside the steamship.

So, put these dates on your calender, and come join me onboard the Portland Steamship.
