July 13th, 18th, and 20th, (Saturdays and Thursday) Paint the Roses red at the Rose Test Garden three more times. I plan to paint early, 10-2pm. There will be no excuse for not having a painting for the Rose Festival 2014.

The week of July 23-27 I plan to be in Newport, Oregon painting with Eric Sandgren and a hundred of his close friends. If anyone is staying in town and want to schedule a paintout, let me know and I will put it on the calender.

I have left lots of open dates for additional paintouts. (Do you have a suggestion?)

The Sandgren Coast PaintOut, July 15-July 27, 2013

(Photo:  Quin Sweetman)

The Sandgren Coast PaintOut is an outdoor painting event. It happens rain or shine for two-weeks each summer. It was initiated over forty years ago by painter and teacher Nelson Sandgren who passed it along to his son Erik. At the heart of the PaintOut is a shared regard for the awesome natural forces visibly at work, a love for Oregon coast, the fondness of intrepid painters for each other, and a shared belief that the challenge of making paintings on site is a broadening experience. (Read further HERE).

(Erik's workshop is filled. He welcomes outdoor painters to come and paint on these dates at these locations):

About The Event
“Paint the Peninsula” is a new annual plein air event that will be held in Port Angeles, Washington on the beautiful Olympic Peninsula where the mountains meet the sea.

Join me for WEDNESDAY paint outs on Sauvie Island 2013

(A invitation from David McBride)

Unless I’m out of town or have an issue, I’ll plan to be at the little store on Sauvie Island a little before three pm on Wednesdays (for most of the summer).  There is a bulletin board of sorts on the wall outside the store where we will post our intended location for the day.  The map at that location should guide any late comers.  If there is confusion or someone needs help finding us, my cell is 503-307-3065
Sauvie Island is on hwy 30 west about 3 miles from the St Johns Bridge.  The little store is just to the left after you’ve crossed the bridge on to the island.  I hope to see you there.
