(A message from Jim Syfert in Collaboration with Tim Young)
Alla Prima Group,
During September we are suggesting a fun contest. We have selected 15 of Tim Young's photos from the last several months and are asking you to select any of them that may inspire you to paint in whatever format you want. This is for fun and to encourage each and every one of us to paint. Even though it is more fun to get out as a group and paint plein aire, we have been hampered somewhat this year and would like to encourage all to paint.
The 15 photos are here and include a variety of subjects. You may crop these to make your painting as individual and artistic as you wish. Please spend some time planning and paint your impression of the scene or scenes you wish to paint. If you have been wanting to try a different style or do something out of your ordinary, this is an ideal opportunity. (Also, paint more than one, if you want).
Share your work on the Alla Prima facebook page (or email to allaprimaportland@gmail.com). There will be THREE prizes awarded to three lucky participants on October 1 (a drawing will be held from all the names of the participants who painted from Tim Youngs photo references) (The organizers of the contest are not participating in the drawing).
