Join award winning artist
Mitch Baird for a plein air painting experience capturing the beautiful Northwest landscape. The workshop will cover the fundamental principles of painting and composition as well as learning to ‘see’ as an artist. Drawing, value, color, and edges will be stressed as well as building a strong design from the elements of nature.
Demonstrations each morning will show how to implement these technical concepts, followed by individual instruction with each student as they work in the afternoons. The workshop will be for all skill levels and all media types (oil, acrylic, and watercolor).
The class will be limited to 15 students to ensure individual attention. The date and location setting of the workshop will be
June 8th & 9th
on Sauvie Island near Portland, Oregon
from 9am – 4pm.
We will be visiting private farms and possibly one of the ‘nature preserve’ areas as well. A materials list will be provided with registration as well as exact meeting locations and directions. Lodging and food will be the responsibility of the student if needed.
