A Studio Visit with Jim King

Jim King recently participated in the Annual Tilbury Camp Tableau Vivant near Poulsbo, WA. (Tableau Vivant translates to "Living picture"). Costumed models recreated scenes of yesteryear farmers for painters and photographers. Jim worked from life at the event and was also permitted to take reference photos for additional studio paintings. During a visit to Jim's studio we got to see some recent work from the event and a maritime/harbor gem too (scroll down):

Dear Alla Prima Painters,

Here is information about our upcoming Johnson Creek Watershed Council Paint Outs (July 7 and August 4) and a free Photo Workshop on July 21. I hope you will be able to participate. We have enjoyed meeting several of your artists and look forward to the opportunity again.

Our third annual Johnson Creek Art Show will be held at Reed College this year. It will be a lovely venue for the artists!

Paint the Lavender Fields!

A SOLICITATION TO ARTISTS

PAINT THE LAVENDER FIELDS OF NORTHWEST OREGON

Public showing and sale of artists' work on July 14 &15, 2012, Saturday & Sunday, at Beulah Park in Yamhill. Limited free homestay opportunities for artists who travel from out of the area. Area residents will open their homes to visiting registered artists during the two week period. Artists may come for a day or two or an entire week! Lodging is free; meals are not included. Lodging is limited and preregistration is required.

Artists must preregister for home stay by June 1.

Please note: a 20% commission on all sales during Oregon Lavender Festival weekend goes to cover festival costs

Here is what is happening at R. Blooms -267 A Ave Lake Oswego, OR 97034

Richard and Trudi Bloom will be joining other retailers, businesses, organizations and the City of Lake Oswego to promote their stores and introduce talent that reflect their taste, image and intention to support art and local artists.

Bloom's intention is to host Plein Air artists who live and paint locally. They will provide a large outdoor space attached to their store so that you can exhibit, demo and sell your work. There is no charge for coming, or commission on what you sell - it is a time for you, the artist, to meet, greet the community and sell your art.

We have openings Friday evenings 07/06, 08/03 and 09/07 - 5:00pm- 8:30pm
Saturday mornings 07/21,08/18 and 09/15 10:00am - 3:00pm
