We’d like to see you in the afternoons to share, marvel at and discuss your day’s work! I’ll limit myself to the designated sites, but by all means paint where YOU wish!

With regard to wind, rain, light /time of day, site inspiration you may want to forgo the group camaraderie of the designated PAINTING sites to work wherever you will be most protected and inspired.

You may want to split your day into two locations with a morning painting wherever you like and rejoining the group for an afternoon start and review.

Leave appropriate drive times to join us promptly at 4:30pm each day at the designated REVIEW site.

In addition to the designated spots, appealing subject matter/parking/facilities may be found at southside Newport Jetty Road, Nye Beach area (near Newport Visual Arts Center), Yaquina Head Outstanding Natural Area, Devil’s Punchbowl, OSU Hatfield Visitor Center (fee, reservation (Thurs-Mondays), Gladys Valley Marine Studies Building at OSU Marine Studies Initiative facility (Goytaku exhibit, free parking), Waldport marina, Seal Rock, and in the areas of Perpetua/ Yachats/Cummins Creek/Cooks Chasm

(if you don’t mind subtracting drive times from your painting day).

Mind you stay portable, drive attentively, and use sunscreen, hats and layered clothing.

Get out on site earlier than scheduled if you value not fighting the wind that pops up late mornings.
