Ken Mazzochi passed away from cancer on April 27, 2022.
Ken began painting in 1975 using mostly acrylics. He joined Alla Prima Portland in 2018.
We remember Ken as generous, kind, compassionate, caring, witty, always smiling and devoted to his vision of spiritual light. When he lived in Portland he seldom missed a Thursday Alla Prima Portland meeting.
Since 2018 Ken submitted 88 paintings to our blog gallery. All 88 are included in today’s memorial tribute slideshow.

It’s clear from his paintings he was seeking peace within relationship with the sitting figures, a pathway, a door to something else, something greater and gloriously lit beyond. I never saw that before, but how clearly he communicated this through his work is wonderful and inspiring.
