"Field Trip" to Cinema 21 (to see At Eternity's Gate) Wednesday, Dec 19 (for the 4pm showing)

Meet us at Cinema 21 (616 NW 23rd) on Wed Dec 19 for the 4pm showing of "At Eternity's Gate" (Willem DaFoe as Vincent van Gogh) (Also, as a bonus, we'll meet at Elephant's Deli (115 NW 22nd) afterwards to discuss the film) :)

"Field Trip", Dave McBride Solo Show (plus Studio Tour) Wed, Dec 12 beginning 2pm


Field trip" to Jola Cafe (5915 SW Corbett Av) Wednesday Dec 12, 2pm) to celebrate Dave McBride's solo show there. We meet at the cafe, look at Dave's work and then walk to his studio for a studio tour (very close by).  (MAP)

Field Trip/Paint Out (Friday June 28) and (Thursday, July 5) Paint out


First off, we’re in talks to keep our regular art discussion meetings in Multnomah Village and I hope to have news on that within a week or two. Details to come.

Meanwhile, we’re enjoying the summer and painting/drawing outside…We know many of you are painting for the lavender event —but you can squeeze these Paint outs
in also (and it’s a nice option for those who aren’t signed up for lavender)

1. FRIDAY, JUNE 28 10:30 am "Impromptu" Field Trip and (subsequent) Paint out Portland Art Museum Hosts: Celeste Bergin and Carolyn Rondthaler
Meet in the PAM lobby (to see the Diebenkorn exhibit) 10:30am (19.00 fee, members Free) Afterwards (around 11:30) set up and Paint in the Park blocks directly in front of the Museum. Bring your lunch! (All levels are welcome, and all media: watercolorists, sketchers, dry media, oil, etcetera) On street parking and/or nearby lot

 2. THURSDAY, JULY 5 9am Portland Women’s Forum Scenic Viewpoint Plein Air Paint out
Host: Geri Graley
Bring your plein air gear, a chair and your lunch. (Rain or Shine)! also there are no bathrooms here you just have to be willing to travel to the grocery or Vista House if you need one.  We'll paint/draw until noon and then reconvene for lunch. "Field Trip" & Paint Out! Monday June 26, (beginning 10:30 am)


You are invited to take part in any or all of our plans for Monday, June 26. 


1. Meet us at 10:30 at the NE Community Center where we will have a look at Tim Young's solo show
 2. After that we will meet for lunch at Shandong right across the street around 11-ish.
 3. From there we will take out painting gear and meet around Noon near the Hollywood Theater for some "urbanscape" painting. (It's within walking distance of the community center).

It is best to park anywhere in the neighborhood near the community center.

“Field Trip” to Aimee Erickson’s show, Thursday, July 14, 1pm, University Club

Did you miss going to Aimee Erickson’s reception last week? No worries! you can join us Thursday, July 14, 1:00  for a visit with Aimee and to see her work from her residency at the University Club. (Its an event just for us)!

Not only will we get to see Aimee’s paintings from the time of her residency at the University Club, we'll get to visit the historic building itself. (The University Club is a social club that was founded in 1898.  It is a members-only establishment. it is on the National Registry of Historic Structures). http://www.uclubpdx.com

*Important: The University Club has a dress code, no shorts, tee shirts, athletic wear and cell phone use is not allowed except in designated places. Aimee’s work has been awarded top prizes from multiple national competitions, including Oil Painters of America, American Women Artists, and the Portrait Society of America; her plein air paintings have won first place in many major outdoor painting events.
